Ruhetag in León
Heute bin ich richtig entspannt. Die Beine schmerzen kaum noch und die Füße beklagen sich auch nur noch leise. Der Regen beruhigt und verbietet Stress. Zudem vermindert er den Drang mehr und noch mehr zu tun.
Die Kathedrale von León hat mich sehr beeindruckt. Sie ist ein Meisterwerk der Gotik. Besonders hängengeblieben: Zur Zeit des Baus war León eine Stadt mit gerade einmal 5.000 Einwohnern. Dennoch waren sie in der Lage, solch eine Kathedrale zu konstruieren. Es gab einen hervorragenden Audioguide den ich gespannt lauschte, während der Regen auf die 1.800 Quadratmeter Fensterkunst prasselte. Zum Schluss gab es den Stempel für den Pilgerpass.
Jetzt bin ich hier im bisher besten Hostel. Habe gerade alles waschen können und probieren den Trockner ohne Hitze aus (schonend für Merinowolle). Alles in der Hoffnung, morgen mit ganz frischer Kleidung durchzustarten. Ich denke, es wird ein sehr gemütlicher Nachmittag und Abend. Die Gesellschaft ist gut und sowohl Kaffee als auch Suppe schmecken bei diesem Schietwetter besonders gut!

Rest day in León
Today I am really relaxed. My legs hardly hurt anymore, and my feet only complain softly. The rain calms and prohibits stress. Moreover, it reduces the urge to do more and more. The Cathedral of León impressed me a lot. It is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture. What stuck with me: At the time of its construction, León was a city with just 5,000 inhabitants. Nevertheless, they were able to build such a cathedral. There was an excellent audioguide that I listened to eagerly while the rain pounded on the 1,800 square meters of stained glass art. In the end, I got the stamp for the pilgrim’s passport.
Now I am here in the best hostel so far. I just washed everything and am trying the dryer without heat (gentle for merino wool). All in the hope of starting fresh tomorrow with completely fresh clothes. I think it will be a very cozy afternoon and evening. The company is good, and both coffee and soup taste especially good in this crappy weather!”
