Klarer blauer Himmel und perfektes Pilgerwetter. Heute sind auff\u00e4llig viele Pilger mit dem Rad unterwegs. Da wird es manchmal ein bisschen eng auf den verschlungenen Pfaden. Mit Musik im Ohr kann man sich ganz sch\u00f6n erschrecken, wenn pl\u00f6tzlich jemand vorbeibraust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Ortschaft ist wirklich ganz charmant, und wir haben den absoluten Jackpot geknackt mit der \u00f6ffentlichen Herberge. Ich glaube, f\u00fcr 10 Euro konnten wir dort \u00fcbernachten. W\u00e4schewaschen (mit Maschine und Waschmittel!) war m\u00f6glich und inklusive. Das Haus und die B\u00e4der waren neu gemacht, und gegen\u00fcber lag eine zauberhafte kleine Kapelle, die mit Rosen und anderen Blumen geschm\u00fcckt war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neulich habe ich mich mit einer lieben Freundin \u00fcber das Pilgern unterhalten. Wir waren uns einig, dass es immer ein paar Tage und Anstrengung braucht, um sich zu \u00f6ffnen und fremde Menschen an sich heranzulassen. Mit diesem Gedanken im Hinterkopf glaube ich, dass dies der Tag war, an dem das Eis f\u00fcr mich brach. Wir waren eine Gruppe von gut acht Leuten und a\u00dfen in einer kleinen Seitenstra\u00dfe drau\u00dfen unter freiem Himmel. Dazu tranken wir gesellig, lachten viel und unbeschwert. Gerade diese Unbeschwertheit und das Lachen nach einem Tag k\u00f6rperlicher Arbeit ist mit das Sch\u00f6nste. Man ist gl\u00fccklich m\u00fcde \u2013 die angenehmste Art, wie ich finde \u2013 und zudem nicht allein. Ich denke, das ist etwas, das im Alltag und insbesondere in den gro\u00dfen St\u00e4dten verloren gegangen ist: der unbeschwerte und herzliche Umgang mit Fremden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clear blue skies and perfect weather for pilgrimage. Today, there were noticeably many pilgrims traveling by bike. Things got a bit tight on the winding paths at times. With music in your ears, it can really startle you when someone suddenly whizzes past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The village is truly charming, and we totally hit the jackpot with the public hostel. I think we were able to stay there for just 10 euros. Laundry (with machine and detergent!) was included. The building and bathrooms had been newly renovated, and just across the street was a lovely little chapel, beautifully decorated with roses and other flowers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other day, I had a conversation with a dear friend about pilgrimage. We both agreed that it always takes a few days and some effort to open up and let strangers get close to you. With that thought in mind, I believe today was the day when the ice broke for me. We were a group of about eight people, sitting outside in a small side street, eating under the open sky. We drank together, laughed a lot, and felt carefree. That feeling of lightness and laughter after a day of physical effort is one of the most beautiful things, I think. You\u2019re happily tired \u2014 the best kind of tired, in my opinion \u2014 and, more importantly, not alone. I think that\u2019s something that\u2019s been lost in everyday life, especially in big cities: the carefree and warm-hearted way of interacting with strangers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
