Ich h\u00f6re beim Wandern schwere, lange B\u00fccher \u2013 solche, f\u00fcr die ich sonst nie Zeit fand. Klassiker, die jeder zitiert, aber kaum jemand gelesen hat. Erstaunlicherweise sickern die Worte ein, und ich verstehe sie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Viele gehen den Camino \u2013 ich z\u00e4hle mich selbst dazu \u2013, weil sie sich erden wollen. Weil sie ihre Wurzeln suchen und neue Kraft sch\u00f6pfen m\u00f6chten. Meine Idee war es, auch die literarische Auswahl dementsprechend zu treffen. Ein kalter Regentag, der die Stimmung merklich dr\u00fcckt. Die Gedanken und Sorgen holen an solchen Tagen gef\u00fchlt immer auf \u2013 hat man sie doch einige Tagesm\u00e4rsche lang hinter sich gelassen. An solchen Tagen sind sie schnell, und man hat das Gef\u00fchl, sie \u00fcber die Schulter blickend sehen zu k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Es geht vielen so. Man ist still und setzt einfach einen Schritt vor den anderen. Auch das geh\u00f6rt dazu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ich habe eine Gruppe charmanter Frauen aus Neuseeland und Australien kennengelernt. Sie haben ein Ritual, das die Stimmung hochh\u00e4lt: Sie gehen teilweise gemeinsam, teilweise allein, h\u00f6ren aber alle dieselbe Playlist w\u00e4hrend des Tages. Abends unterhalten sie sich dann \u00fcber die besten Lieder und welche Erinnerungen sie damit verbinden. Das fand ich gro\u00dfartig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Die konkrete Aufgabe, die vor einem liegt<\/strong><br>Das Bett ist reserviert. Es gilt nun, die Strecke zu gehen. Jeder Schritt f\u00fchrt zu einer warmen Dusche und zu einem Bett, in dem man sich einkuscheln kann.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Die Landschaft mit ihren Burgruinen und dem Lichtspiel<\/strong><br>Selbst bei schlechtem Wetter verzaubern sie. Es gibt so viel zu entdecken. Es ist wie ein Buch mit neuen Seiten \u2013 hinter jeder Biegung wartet eine neue Szenerie.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Die spanischen Bars in den kleinen D\u00f6rfern<\/strong><br>Sie sind der soziale Treffpunkt: gem\u00fctlich und preiswert. Die Spanier sind sehr warmherzige Gastgeber, und der Kaffee ist wirklich ausgezeichnet.<br>Jedes Dorf profitiert von einer professionellen Siebtr\u00e4germaschine und frisch gemahlenen Bohnen.<br>Man kann an den Kaffeepreisen sogar messen, wie weit man noch von Santiago de Compostela oder der n\u00e4chsten Gro\u00dfstadt entfernt ist. Die Preise f\u00fcr einen Americano schwanken zwischen <strong>1,10 Euro<\/strong> und <strong>bis zu 2 Euro<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Ich merke, wie mir das gesunde Essen und die Bewegung guttun. Eine Meditation hier und da \u2013 und dazu eine perfekte Orange. Was will man mehr? Morgen geht es weiter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From El Real de la Jara, the Journey Continues<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>While walking, I listen to heavy, lengthy books \u2013 the kind I never found time for before. Classics that everyone quotes, but hardly anyone has actually read. Surprisingly, the words sink in, and I understand them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many people walk the Camino \u2013 and I count myself among them \u2013 because they want to ground themselves. Because they&#8217;re searching for their roots and hoping to gain new strength. My idea was to choose my reading accordingly. On days like this, thoughts and worries always seem to catch up \u2013 even though you left them behind several days ago. They&#8217;re quick on days like this, and you almost feel like you can see them looking over your shoulder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many people feel the same. It\u2019s quiet, and you simply put one foot in front of the other. That\u2019s part of the journey too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I met a group of charming women from New Zealand and Australia. They have a little ritual that keeps spirits high: they sometimes walk together, sometimes alone, but they all listen to the same playlist throughout the day. In the evening, they talk about the best songs and the memories they associate with them. I thought that was wonderful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">On Days Like These, Three Things Bring Me Comfort:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The specific task that lies ahead<\/strong><br>The bed is booked. All that\u2019s left is to walk the distance. Every step leads to a warm shower and a bed you can snuggle into.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The landscape, with its castle ruins and play of light<\/strong><br>Even in bad weather, it enchants. There\u2019s so much to discover. It\u2019s like a book with new pages \u2013 around every bend, a new scene awaits.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Spanish bars in the small villages<\/strong><br>They\u2019re the social hubs: cozy and affordable. The Spanish are warm and welcoming hosts, and the coffee is truly excellent.<br>Every village has a professional espresso machine and freshly ground beans.<br>You can even tell how far you are from Santiago de Compostela or the next big city by the price of a coffee. A typical Americano ranges from <strong>\u20ac1.10<\/strong> to <strong>up to \u20ac2.00<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>I can feel how much the healthy food and movement are doing me good. A bit of meditation here and there \u2013 and a perfect orange. What more could one ask for?
