Das Ziel war ja in der N\u00e4he. Der Regen heute schwankte zwischen prickelnden Perlen und Schauer. Eine wahrlich nette Abwechslung. Man muss hier noch erw\u00e4hnen, dass wenige Spanier auf einen Samstag um sieben oder acht bei Dauerregen ihr Caf\u00e9 \u00f6ffnen. Eine fr\u00fche St\u00e4rkung wurde somit verwehrt! Trotz aller Widrigkeiten erreichte ich die Kathedrale in der Stadt und war heute der 70. Pilger, der im Pilgerb\u00fcro seine Compostela beantragte (gegen 15:00 Uhr waren es bereits ca. 1500).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped Schnack mit den freiwilligen Helfern erhielt ich meine Compostela! Ich legte einem kurzen Stopp bei der Deutschen Pilgerf\u00fcrsorge ein, schloss beim Pilgerb\u00fcro meinen Rucksack ein und quatschte mit meinen nassen F\u00fc\u00dfen zur Kathedrale. Hier z\u00fcndete ich eine Kerze f\u00fcr Verstorbene an, betete, besuchte das Grab des Heiligen und umarmte, so ist es Brauch, die Statur des Heiligen. Nun habe ich 50 Minuten vor Beginn der Messe einen Sitzplatz und kann sehr gut sehen. Neben mir plappern deutsche Rentnerinnen wie ein Wasserfall. Ich kann dadurch fast den Chor h\u00f6ren. Die Messe war bis auf den letzten Stehplatz besucht und der Erzbischof hie\u00df alle Pilger herzlich willkommen. Nach einem charmanten Mittagessen, hei\u00dft es nun aufw\u00e4rmen und dann feiern. Viele bekannte Gesichter sind heute auch angekommen und wir werden heute Abend lecker Essen und uns feiern. Morgen geht es zur\u00fcck! The destination was nearby. The rain today varied between light drizzles and showers. A truly nice change. It should be mentioned that few Spaniards open their caf\u00e9s at seven or eight on a rainy Saturday morning. Thus, an early refreshment was denied! Despite all adversities, I reached the cathedral in the city and was the 70th pilgrim today to apply for the Compostela at the Pilgrim Office (by 3:00 pm, there were already about 1500). After a friendly chat with the volunteer helpers, I received my Compostela! I made a brief stop at the German Pilgrim Service, locked my backpack at the Pilgrim Office, and waddled with my wet feet to the cathedral. Here I lit a candle for the deceased, prayed, visited the Saint&#8217;s tomb, and, as is tradition, embraced the statue of the Saint. Now, 50 minutes before the start of the mass, I have a seat and a good view. Next to me, German retirees are chatting away like a waterfall, almost drowning out the choir. The mass was attended up to the last standing place, and the Archbishop warmly welcomed all pilgrims. After a delightful lunch, it&#8217;s time to warm up and then celebrate. Many familiar faces arrived today as well, and we will have a delicious dinner and celebrate tonight. Tomorrow, it&#8217;s back home!
