Was f\u00fcr ein Tag! Ich war um 5:00 Uhr wach, h\u00fcpfte leise in meine Sachen. Schlicht mich aus dem verkatert schnarchenden Hostel Zimmer ins Bad machte mich f\u00fcr den Tag fertig. Dann ging es los durch die leeren Stra\u00dfen von Madrid, herrlich Fotos ohne Menschen von den ber\u00fchmtesten Denkm\u00e4lern und Geb\u00e4uden. Um elf \u00f6ffnete die Kirche, wo ich meinen ersten Stempel abholen konnte und offiziell den Weg begann. Daraufhin ging es vom Zentrum Madrid aus der Stadt hinaus durch kleine G\u00e4nge und \u00fcber herrliche Wiesen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Was mir besonders gefallen hat, war das man einmal sehen konnte wie eine Stadt vom Zentrum her wieder mit der Landschaft verschmilzt. Selten bin ich so ein Weg gegangen: Der Himmel war strahlend blau. Es gab nicht eine Wolke, und ich war sehr froh \u00fcber Basecap und Sonnencreme, die ich am H\u00fcftriemen verstaut hatte.\u00a0

Das aufregendste des Tages war allerdings, dass ein Wildschwein mitten auf dem Weg zwischen Blumen stand und mich und eine andere Pilgerin, die Pause machte, dann neugierig anguckte.\u00a0\u00a0Ich war zuvor vom Weg abgegangen, um sie, die abseits unterm Baum sa\u00df, vorzuwarnen und zugleich in Deckung zu gehen. Wir gingen in die Knie und wurden ganz still. War es freundlich oder feindlich? Es roch und h\u00f6rte uns und kam bis auf 15 Meter heran, schien sich aber nicht weiter f\u00fcr uns zu interessieren. Es grub und futterte fr\u00f6hlich. So gab ich der anderen Pilgerin noch etwas von meinem Wasser ab und beendete die Etappe. nach Tres Cantos mit etwa 24km.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bisher bin ich mit der Ausr\u00fcstung sehr zufrieden. Merinowolle ist wirklich ein Zauberzeug. Einen Stempel habe ich mir heute in einer modernen Kirche geholt von einem sehr lieben Padre, der mich gleich segnete und mit mir ein wenig auf franz\u00f6sische plauderten. Jetzt schlendere ich in Flip Flops durch die kleine Stadt, f\u00fclle meine Vorr\u00e4te auf (ein paar N\u00fcsse. Gurke, Paprika, was ich so finde), packe meine Lunchbox und dann werde ich gut schlafen k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Madrid to Tres Cantos<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What a day! I woke up at 5:00 a.m., quietly got dressed, tiptoed out of the hostel room where someone was snoring away, and headed to the bathroom to get ready for the day. Then I set off through the empty streets of Madrid, taking wonderful photos without people in them of the most famous monuments and buildings. At eleven, the church opened, where I could collect my first stamp and officially begin the journey. From there, I left the center of Madrid and headed out of the city through small alleys and across beautiful meadows. What I especially liked was being able to see how a city merges back into the landscape from the center. Rarely have I walked such a path: the sky was bright blue. There wasn’t a single cloud, and I was very grateful for the baseball cap and sunscreen I had stashed on my hip belt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most exciting part of the day, however, was encountering a wild boar standing amidst flowers on the path, staring curiously at me and another pilgrim who was taking a break. I had veered off the path earlier to warn her, as she was sitting alone under a tree, and at the same time to take cover. We knelt down and stayed very still. Was it friendly or hostile? It sniffed and listened to us and approached to within 15 meters, but seemed uninterested in us. It dug and happily ate. So I shared some of my water with the other pilgrim and completed the stage to Tres Cantos, covering about 24km.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far, I am very satisfied with the equipment. Merino wool is truly magical. Today, I got a stamp in a modern church from a very kind padre who blessed me and chatted with me a bit in French. Now I’m strolling through the small town in flip flops, stocking up on supplies (some nuts, cucumber, pepper, whatever I can find), packing my lunchbox, and then I’ll be able to sleep well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
